Follow the Son

In the early hours of the morning on the 1st of September 2021 the Lord gave me this dream:

I was sleeping in church, as the Sunday service was going on as normal. I was so  deep in sleep that I  saw myself drooling. I felt a smack on my shoulder. One of my Sunday school kids woke me up. He looked so surprised, he said, “Ma Moruti, it’s offering time”. I woke up, took my offering to the offering basket.  Church was over. I walked outside. There was so much chaos and terror .

I saw dust in the air. From a distance I could see what was causing the dust. I saw whirlwinds, whirlwinds everywhere. These were not normal whirlwinds that I’ve seen before. At first I didn’t notice, until I saw flickers of fire in the whirlwinds. The whirlwinds burnt anything that they touched. I saw traffic lights on fire, people burnt, I saw cars on fire. I saw someone who I knew. They also saw me.  They asked me to go with them. I thought to myself, ” thank goodness, I have someone who I can get through this with”.

I realised this person was making their way to a holiday inn. When we got there I saw more faces that I knew. I was told that more people were coming for holiday. No one cared about the whirlwinds. No one even spoke about them. I decided to leave. I didn’t understand why someone wouldn’t be concerned about what I just saw. I didn’t understand why they were on holiday at the wrong time…

I left the inn, continued walking. The whirlwinds where still spiralling around. There were cries every where.  I tried to get out out of the chaos. It was even hard to move around and make my way through. But something told me to follow the sun. I followed the sun. It led me out of the chaos. It led me to greener fields with each step I took. It led me to a scenery of peace. It led me further away and to a higher place away from the commotion. I remember seeing myself singing a song to God while following the sun. – THE END

Interpretation ( There are two types of Christians depicted in the dream);

1) There are people who are going to church and are deep in sleep. So much so that they drool. The are so relaxed to the point that they are not useful. They need to be woken up. The end is near, it will happen unexpectedly. WAKE UP! Take Jesus and His word seriously. Church should not be your comfort zone. Do not be lukewarm.

For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 5:14

But because you are neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm, I am about to spit you from my mouth.
Revelation 3:16

2 ) There are Christians who have moved away from God in the name of “I need a break from God”. They are on a “spiritual holiday”. You’re thinking you’ll come back when you’re “rested” or when your “ready”. In the meantime you have decided to ignore God and all that goes with Him even though you know the truth. End your holiday. God says Humble yourself!!! Get rid of your pride. You see that the time is near, you can see that the earth has labour pains yet you choose to ignore the signs. Return to God.

Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep.  For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. Isaiah 60:11

3) In the midst of chaos, confusion and commotion always fix your eyes on Jesus, the SON of righteousness. He will led you to all truth. Look to Him. He will cause your face to be radiant. Jesus is your captain in the storm. Fix your eyes on Jesus!!! Worship Him wholeheartedly with all your heart.

But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. Isaiah 60:2

In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Also, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

Those who wish to know God must come to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Those who do not kiss or honor the Son of God stand condemned by God (John 3:18).

Peace, My Treasure

God's door is always open.
God’s door is always open.

Are you tired of the cares of life? Are you carrying a heavy burden? Are you worried about something? It doesn’t have to be the case. God has sent out an invite to those who are tired and weary. God is our Father. He is able to carry all our problems. It’s true, you can only do so much to change a situation but you have to abandon everything in the capable hands of God.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matt 11:28-30).

Let God know what is causing your heart to be heavy. Pour out all your heart to the Lord just like David did in the book of Psalms. God will give you rest. Put down your heavy weight problems at His feet.

Philippians 4:6-7, says that we should not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. PEACE guards our hearts and minds. That is why the absence of peace can cause a person to do very strange and irrational things at times. Not only that but the mind goes wild, you think all sorts of crazy things. We all need this guard (Peace) to be sober minded.

See, worry may come but don’t live in it. We are not to accept it as a way of life. It should not be part of our character as God’s children. “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” (Luke 12:25).

I believe that there are many promises from God’s word, and REST is one of them. Receive that rest today, a rest that gives you peace in some of the toughest situations you may be facing today.

Seeking God Is A Necessity

I remember one morning while I was having breakfast, the sun shone so bright on my face. The warmth was so tangible; the blinding gold beams did not bother me at all. I realized that with every minute that went by the sun was moving higher. Eventually I could no longer see the sun. So I bent down, below the short designed curtain in attempt to have a final look at the mesmerizing sun, as my eyes caught the glimpse of the sun I heard these words so loud and clear in my spirit, “If you seek me, you will find me”. These words rung so loud, I can still hear the echoing in my heart.

See, God desires that we seek Him whether we are old or young. When God called Samuel, Samuel was only about nine years old. So it’s never about your age but the posture of your heart to respond to the creator of the heavens and the earth. God is calling us to seek His face. In Psalm 27:8 God says to David, seek my face and David says, “Lord I will seek you”. I love David’s response, the answer to God is a big Yes. He doesn’t hold back. What is your response to God today? God loves fellowship. He would visit Adam and Eve in the cool of day. He enjoys spending time with us more than we do. Don’t just seek God, but seek Him on the authority of His word. We cannot seek God outside His Word. God is in His word. You will find God in each line of your bible. Remember that God’s word is alive and active, his word brings change. His word is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 4:12. Sometimes you will read your bible feeling like it’s a waste of time, trust me it’s not a waste of time. Those words you are reading are being layered in the depths of your heart, slowly change will happen.

God says that His words will not return to Him void, it will accomplish the thing for which He sent it to do. It will fulfill the purpose it was meant for. Isaiah 55:1.What this means is that God’s word is creative. When God speaks,  His word moves at His instruction. Keep seeking God in His word. Do not be discouraged. Seek God with the mindset that His word is alive. As you seek God you will see the difference. As you behold Jesus in the word you become more like Him. I sense it so strong in my heart that God is calling us to come to him in this season.

Here are more scriptures that show how God longs to have fellowship with us

James 4:8
Exodus 24:1-2
Isaiah 55: 6-7
Psalms 65-4
Zechariah 1:3
Deuteronomy  4:29
1 Sam 3:4-10

Why is it important to go to God?

Why is it so crucial for believers to seek God, I mean already they believe in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit . Well, it’s simply because God wants us to know His nature, His heart and how passionate He is about us. When we seek Him and find Him even the devices of the enemy will not work against us. When Satan and the world create false perceptions and ideas of God, you will be able to disarm every single one of them. It’s also important because when you go to God you are declaring that God is a necessity to you. You are acknowledging that you are nothing without God and that God is your source. The Lord becomes your shepherd (Psalm 23:1) and God begins to share things with you only because you spend time with him.

Furthermore, you also become better in hearing God’s voice. Jesus says that my sheep know my voice. You will learn to recognize His voice. John 10:27. Today we live in a time where there are many voices, opinions of thought leaders and influencers. But at the end of the day, who steers your life? is it God? or the worldly culture? God promises that when you seek Him you will find him ( Deutronomy 4:29). He does not want to be a God that is far, in actual fact He longs to be near to you.

How do we seek God?

You may have a desire to seek God, a passion burning to know God more for yourself. I understand that sometimes the idea of seeking God may look daunting , you may actually even feel like you are not qualified to seek God like it’s only for certain people. Trust me, Jesus came and died so that you would have a relationship with God. You can approach God’s throne with boldness and confidence in the blood that was shared for you. The door to your Father is wide open you just need to walk in. How do you walk in? Here are some ways I believe have helped me to seek God.

Read Your Bible.

Search the scriptures. Make a habit of reading your bible… you will meet God there.  Jeremiah 33:3. Find a bible version that is easy to read and understand. There are many bible reading plans you can also use. The aim is not to rush through to the last page of the bible instead walk through slowly, prayerfully, and asking the Holy Spirit to interpret and make God’s word clear to you. There will be traces of lights you will start to see just like when an aeroplane lands on the runway. The pilot sees the lights, they direct and guide. The Holy Spirit will act as that light for you.

Prayer is you making time to talk to God. In prayer you declare that God is the one who is able to step in on your behalf. Prayer also keeps our spiritual “senses” connected to God. When we are overwhelmed prayer is a way to put down any heavy load we are carrying. Talking to your Father in private shows how serious you are about his input in your life. God also talks back to us. Some of my ideas I have had in the past were birthed in prayer. I wasn’t even praying about them specifically, I was praying about other things but because God is a Father who cares about every facet of my life. He gave me answers before I even asked. Sometimes you may be praying and you mind will remember someone, sometimes it’s God giving you an indicator that you must check on that friend or a family member. Jesus, the son of God understood that it was important to spend time with His Father. He would go to a secluded place, alone just to talk to His Father. Often He would pray early in the mornings. ( Mark 1:35, Mark 14:32, Luke 4:42). When do you pray? only when you have trouble? Start praying, sunshine or rain be consistent, even if you pray for 10 – 15 minutes a day. Just be consistent.

Meeting with other believers

When we meet with other believers they will share their walk and experiences with the Lord, this encourages us. It builds us up. We grow from listening to stories and testimonies of faith, Iron sharpens iron. Acts 1:14, says that the believers were of one accord ( meaning with the same mind, in unity, the same intentions.) When we meet with the intentions to worship and bless the Lord something happens inside of us. Where two or three are gathered in my name I will be in their midst. Matthew 18:20. God honors our meetings. The more we talk about him amongst ourselves the more He delights in us.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27

Shepherding or looking after flock was once a prominent occupation in the early life of Israel before crop farming became more favoured. The first shepherd mentioned in the Bible is Abel, Adam’s son, who was killed by his brother Cain (Genesis 4:1-8). Some of the great men God called and used in the Bible were also shepherds: Abraham, Moses and king David.

In Psalm 23 king David describes so beautifully the relationship God (our Great Shepherd) has with his people (his sheep). God cares for each one of us. He longs to provide, love, lead and protect his people just as a committed shepherd would do for his sheep.

It is in this close and personal shepherding relationship that we, who are in Christ, learn to recognise his voice as we follow him. He knows us by name and we belong to him. He calls us his sheep because we obey him. Because we belong to him, we are constantly under his watchful eye and no one can snatch us out of God’s hand (John 10:29).

Recognising and listening to our shepherd’s voice helps us to discern a voice of a stranger who comes as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Even in the Body of Christ, there are overseers who teach heresies and have led many astray. They are interested in making a name for themselves and fattening their pockets. The Bible calls them hirelings and they do not care for the sheep (John 10:13).

Along our Christian journey, we sometimes lose our footing and sense of hearing. We sometimes get so bogged down by the busyness of life that we take our eyes off our shepherd. We must stop and recognise that we’ve lost our sense of direction. We must dig into the word of God and lean our ears towards him and listen to his still and small voice. Listen. What is he saying to you today?

Keep Your Eyes On The Horizon

Hi dearest one. So I’m writing this to remind you that even in the crazy times we’re currently finding ourselves in, to keep your eyes on the horizon.

When we lose our vision we lose our power to lead. Today I want to remind you that you need to keep your eyes on the promises of God! Yes, I know that we are living in the midst of a pandemic, but this pandemic isn’t permanent. God’s promises are permanent.

This is the perfect time to quiet down and start working towards what God has placed in you heart. Romans 12: 2 reminds us that we should not be conformed to this world but that we should be transformed by the renewing of our minds. When we look at the Greek word for renewing, it literally means “renovation”. We should use this time of uncertainty to become certain in our faith. We need to start by renovating the inmost corners of our mind so that it is aligned to the Word of God. We need to renovate our thoughts, our actions and our perspective.

As women we love to renovate our homes. We love adding decorative elements, flowers & scented candles. It leads me to ask whether we have been applying the same renovating skills to our spirit and soul.

One of the best ways to renovate an anxious mind is to get clear on your vision. In trying times we always need to be reminded of who we are, what we are called to do, what our role is in society as well as our purpose. As women we not only bring creativity to our homes, but we bring influence and atmosphere. We are leaders alongside our spouses. Caregivers and nurturers. Never underestimate the power of being a woman. Being vulnerable and emotional is one of our strongest attributes!

One of the enemy’s tactics is to remove all hope from your life. When you’re travelling on a foggy darkened road you’re bound to stop hallway on the journey. “I can’t see” is what you might be feeling. Having vision is knowing that the road clears in the end. The fog will lift and the sun will rise. When we have vision we can travel to our destination without wavering. We are assured that all our roads will lead to the good in the end. (Rom 8:28)

Lost you vision in this difficult time?

  • Look within yourself
Look at what God has placed within you. Your strengths, passions, personality.
Use what makes you unique as wife, mother, mentor, sister, friend.
  • Look behind you
Look at what you have been through. If you have survived a challenging time in the past, your sure to survive it this time. In what way has God been there in the past? We can’t deny His presence. He has always been there, and He will always be there in the future. Focus on how He has carried you.
  • Look around you
What is the need around you? Often we are driven to purpose when we see the need around us. She who refreshes others will herself be refreshed. In what way can you be a solution to your household and community?

Unsung Heroes

Woman are powerful beings. Women are beautiful. With this, I greet all my queens during this special month of August.

Isn’t it ironic that we are given a month just to celebrate the beings that we are? Some think that women are an afterthought, second best and beneath but I would like to think that women are THE thought, the cream of the cake, the cherry on top and the answer to all creation.

My Lady, in order for you to enjoy this life that you are in, you have to get the mind of God concerning why He created you. First and foremost, before you are a woman, you are a spirit being. You are made in God’s image. Exactly like God. A spirit being. That means you can do anything a man knows how to do. You are called a woman because of what your body is categorized into, just differences in anatomy. We have a different reproductive system from males because we can produce babies and nurture them to full term.

But in terms of capabilities and strengths, God can use a woman as much as he can use a man. Don’t be fooled with the society’s stigma that says only women can do certain projects or assignments. Don’t ever limit yourself.

God’s calling is in your spirit and not in your body. One of the very first evangelists the bible recorded was the woman at the well (John 4). She went around and preached Jesus to whomever would listen.

The very first prophecy of a woman we see in the bible is when God addressed her as a helper ( Genesis 2:18-24). We are not an afterthought. But we are exactly what the bible thought would be necessary to this earth. We are to be a helping agent and ingredient to this earth. Not only to our husbands but anywhere we are placed in as a woman. Help the world to go back to the original intention of what God intended.

We women are unsung heroes. We are gifted in the area of perceiving (“sixth sense”). Zipporah was able to perceive and understand the laws of God and be able to quickly do the right thing before the Lord could kill Moses (Exodus 4:24-26).

Dr Myles Munroe summarizes the woman with these short and simple points
• Incubator
• Dominator
• Prophetess
• Nurturer
• Producer
• Made in the image of God
• Worshipper
• Encourager
• Supporter
• Leader in the area of your calling

You are a rare species. You have so much in the inside of you that you need to contribute. Creation awaits you, rise up O woman and take your rightful place.

Walking By Faith

Walking by faith is something that at one time or another we all struggle with. We can be inspired by a great sermon or someone giving us a word of encouragement, but as soon as the emotions of that event fade, we are faced with whether or not we will walk by faith and not by sight, or we will look around and say “it must not have been God after all.”

Today, I want to encourage you.

Not because you are somehow missing it or a failure in your Christian life, but I want to encourage you to overcome.

I want to encourage you to walk by faith and not by sight every day.

How do we walk in faith? It starts by taking action!

Take the first step.

The same things happen to us as when we watch our children learn to walk. We miss things, we fall, and we get ahead of God. However, in the end, we learn how to walk, and the way we start is by taking that first step.

Keep going, many people have the idea that if something is from God, it will be easy. That is not the case. If it is from God more than likely, you will experience opposition.

It may come from well-meaning friends, family, or other Christians. Not everybody in your life is healthy or motivated from a focus of faith.

Think about it. Jesus who is the model for our Christian life, experienced opposition spiritually from Satan in the desert, from religious leaders of the day, and from the Roman empire who placed Him on the cross.

Don’t think that if something is from God that all you will get is smooth sailing and kudos of affirmation towards your decision. Expect opposition.

In the end, don’t use the God card unless you know it was God and if you know, then walk by faith and not by sight.

Faith is a place of mystery, where we find the courage to believe in what we cannot see and the strength to let go of our fear of uncertainty.”

God is Working in Your Life

You are equipped for this life and God’s mercy is greater than your mistakes.

After Adam and Eve committed sin in Genesis 3:11, they hid themselves from God. When God called out to them, Adam replied, “We hid because we are naked.” To which God responded, “WHO TOLD YOU that you are naked?”

Many people who are called by GOD feel that they are not qualified to be used by HIM, with many asking themselves what GOD can do through them as they have no education, job, spouse, qualifications or stability.

God will turn things around for you

Being called by God isn’t about how qualified or talented you are, but about how yielded you are. When you obey and trust GOD, HIS power will become available to you. This is when HE will work though you and bring about greatness in every area of your life. Looking back at your journey from childhood to your teenage years and adult life, you might think it was chaotic or even an emotional roller coaster. You may have shed some tears, but once you take a deep breath and be still, you will realize it was the devil placing obstacles in your way to destroy you. But GOD turned things around and you are now strong enough to face the devil.

You are created to stand out

When GOD breathed life into you, HE gave you something to give you an advantage in life. There is something about you that makes you stand out, draws opportunity, causes you to overcome obstacles and accomplish your dreams. The scripture calls it the gracious hand of GOD. It’s GOD’s favor and HIS blessing. It’s not just your talent, education or hard work, but GOD breathing life into you.

You are perfect as you are

When you are going through bad days, proclaim that your future will be brighter than your past. Your life will move to a new level if you get rid of negative thoughts and you’ll experience the blessings GOD has in store for you.

Whatever season you are facing, remind yourself that you have been made in the image of GOD and that HE did not make any mistakes. You are the perfect size and have the right personality, gifts, looks and skin color. Embrace the truth and the victory HE has stored for you.

Woman, Know Your Place.

We have heard the above statement many many times over the years. Throughout history society has tried to define and determine where a woman’s place is. There have been numerous debates about this. As a matter of fact, the attempt to determine where a woman’s place was is what has put many limitations on women across all races, nations, cultures, and religions.

Society has always tried to tell women what they could do and couldn’t or where they belonged and didn’t. Some have always said that the place of the woman is in the kitchen! Even the value and significance of womankind has been questioned and debated throughout all history. However, I strongly believe that the significance, value, and place of womankind need to be defined by and understood from God’s standpoint.

You see, acknowledging the distinctiveness between the male and female will allow both men and women to lay hold of the different graces and peculiarities given to them to function, be all that God has created them to be, and manifest Him in His fullness in their uniqueness.

Sadly, many women have stepped outside of the grace, which God only bestowed upon womankind, because of the catastrophic results of the feminist movement. Now, understand me well. I am not against the liberation of women. I am for it wholeheartedly. What matters to me isn’t only the liberation of women, but also accurately defining what it is, what it entails and how to attain it or what the fundamental principles to this are.

I am concerned about God’s idea or Kingdom principles and ways rather than some ideologies or some school of thought of mere men. The truth is that the female is important and valuable to God as much as the male is. God doesn’t think more highly of the male than He does of the female; God places the same value on both of them. As true as this is, we cannot deny the other truth that both the man and woman aren’t the same; they were created differently. An understanding of this simple, yet vital truth will help do away with the battle of the sexes.

The significance of the woman is found in the purpose of why she was created. You see, God created womankind with the power and ability to be of help; her speciality is to help (Genesis 2:18). The woman has an inherent ability to be a helper. The word helper in the Bible is attributed to God’s ability and strength expressed through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. When God called the woman a helper He wasn’t pointing out to some kind of weariness or an inferior being, but He was orienting humanity towards His strength and ability which is expressed through the woman.

Beloved sister, you are vital to humanity; there is a place for you in the world. In you is an ability to express God. Creation awaits eagerly for your manifestation. Your value as a woman will not be in trying to imitate men or becoming more like them. However, your value and significance will be in honoring your womanhood and femininity and offering to the world the wisdom, strength and ability of God that is at work on the inside of you as a vital part of humanity.

There’s only ONE PLACE for the woman, ONLY ONE! “Where is that?” You may ask. Well, CHRIST IS YOUR PLACE, YOUR ENVIRONMENT of life, honor, glory, dominion, and power! So, not only is Christ a Person, He’s also a place. If you IN Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), you are in your place of inheritance; a place of divine authority and power, where you reign and rule over satan and the cohorts of darkness. So when you say “I’m IN Christ,” you ought to understand the importance of that statement. You’re in a PLACE where you can do all things!

Hi, there, my name is Bongi Victorious, and I am a woman, my place is not in the kitchen but my place is in Christ. I’m in A Place Called ”IN HIM”, and in that place, I am who God says I am, have what He says I have and can do what He says I can do, and I walk in the light of who I am in Christ gracefully as I embrace my femininity. I’m not a male, cannot and never will be, and that’s okay. The grace bestowed upon me as a woman is enough for me to be all that God has called me to be.
How about you sis, do you know your place?

Who Is Your Anchor?

As I pour these words down fresh from and in the midst of so much uncertainty I have never been more certain of one thing…the fact that I am anchored in Christ therefore I can stand. I write this article soon after I buried my sister (3rd born). Her death has shaken the very core of who I am and I have had to ask myself and God many questions. I don’t understand why but I know one thing for sure that my only hope and all I know is God. There is a global pandemic and people are losing their loved ones all over. Nothing seems certain. The economy is shaking. There are not many places to go to. Kids are being home-schooled. People are getting retrenched and losing jobs. Society is broken, leaders are broken, churches are broken, the system is broken. People’s hearts are getting more hardened just like it was prophesied.

As I watch all this unravel in front of my eyes and the ground beneath me feeling like it’s moving I want to encourage you and remind you Martyrs and Apostles of old. I will never know what it feels like to be Paul but I know that he lived up to his mandate. I pray never to experience my eyes gouged out like John when he wrote the book of revelations. I know one thing for sure I will never let go of God’s unchanging hand. So I don’t know what tomorrow holds but I am certain of one thing. I’m certain about the God we serve. The question is whether we will hold on to our faith in the midst of uncertainty and all that is happening around us.” I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8 AMP).

As I was reflecting on what to write to encourage you, I realized that God had already written this sermon. So I will take an extract from the prophetic book God wrote with my hand called “broken, beautiful”. As I reflect more I am listening to a song written by Dr Tumi “ I will keep on waiting”. As I listen to it every word hits my core. Below is an extract from my book “broken, beautiful”
“Is there really a treasure… in any trial? Here is a song that resonates with the message conveyed in this book.

Broken Beautiful by Amber Rhodes
“Hello, God, are you there? Can you hear my Prayer Because I am waiting? Hello, God, Are you here? Can you see my tears while I am waiting? There’s a lot I have had to lay down and I am weary There’s a lot that hasn’t worked out But somehow, I will trade my sorrow for a joy that’s full I will trade my disappointment for something so good Lay down my doubting and all the hurt I hold You make broken beautiful So, God here I am, and I trust your plan though I am waiting.

Always waiting on God Even if I don’t feel you near There’s a lot I don’t understand But I know you meet me right where I am But somehow, I will trade my sorrows for the joy that is full … All the pieces, all the seasons you will all redeem It’s the reason I believe
I will trade my sorrows for your joy? “

Do you feel exhausted? Do you feel like you have done absolutely everything you could, but things just don’t seem to go your way and you can’t see a way out? Do you feel like the rug has been pulled from under your feet and you have lost balance? Are you in a place where there isn’t a simple explanation for what is going on and feel despondent? Are you in a place of cutting or refining in your life? Do you think you are misunderstood and feel broken? Are you at the brink of giving in? Are you at the verge of even questioning God? If you find yourself answering, “yes” to some of these questions, then this book is written for you. Are you in a circle of disappointments and don’t understand why? Are you discouraged and tired? Or maybe you’re facing delays and don’t understand why. Perhaps you’ve been praying and waiting for a husband, yet it seems everyone around you is getting theirs. Perhaps you are going through a divorce, yet you prayed without ceasing day and night for your marriage to work out. Perhaps you are a victim of emotional or physical abuse. Have you been praying earnestly for a baby yet there is no sign of life emerging? It could be that you want a bigger house while everyone else is extending theirs. You could have been waiting years on end for something that has not yet happened. You might even feel broken because of the wrong choices you made in your life.

Let me introduce you to a God who can change any situation in a split second. A God who can give you a “Goshen in Egypt”. A God who translated Joseph from being an inmate to a prime minister in a matter of hours when the time was due. A God who transforms broken pieces into beautiful Master Pieces. Jesus came to heal the broken hearted. My founding Scripture, Romans 8:28 reads; All things work together for good for those who love the Lord…”

I had been contemplating writing a book for some time, and I had already bedded down a few things, when suddenly, I listened to Ann Voskamp, who spoke about trading the bad broken for the good broken. She stated this emphatically by saying: “God takes the broken fragments of our lives and turns them into beautiful masterpieces. We live in such a complex world that sometimes we become overwhelmed when we look at our mess, as we just can’t see how God could possibly bring beauty from our brokenness. The good news is that, we don’t have to know the blueprint to walk in the steps God has for us. God knows the plans He has for us, even when we can’t see how it will all turn out. All we need to do is foster a relationship of trust and simple obedience with a loving Father who knows how to mold our lives into something beautiful.” [Ann Voskamp]”

Quoted in the book mentioned above with an extract I almost feel like God was preparing us for seasons that would enter in our lives, especially this season that we are in at the moment.  As a believers we go through various trials and the list is not exhaustive but let me try to summarize various seasons that we can encounter and you will relate to some.

  1. Process, training, wilderness and a place of pruning. I call these “cherith”. This is because of the brook of “cherith” which God sent Elijah to. These are lonely seasons. Almost like what Covid-19 has forced people to do. You are isolated and the only thing you have is your faith in God.
  2. Giving birth to your purpose/Gethsemane (this requires that our eyes be fixed on God. It doesn’t make the process any less challenging because when Christ was rejected, ridiculed by the very people he came to save I am sure it was not a comfortable experience but He had to focus on the mission and not allow anything to distract Him.
  3. When God wants to show off His Glory (This is like the Job situation). Scripture says that the devil was conversing about Job and God answered and actually gave permission (allowed the test) except he didn’t allow for Job’s life to be taken.
  4. When the enemy attacks. Ephesians 6:11-18 alludes to the fact that we have an enemy who will stop at nothing to destroy us. However Paul shares with us how to win the fight.
  5. Barrenness (Sometimes we set our eyes too low and God has a bigger and better plan just like the story of Hannah the mother to Samuel. Hannah wanted a baby but God had a prophet in mind).

In an effort to answer the initial questions. God always has a better plan and sometimes we may not grasp it but I am learning daily that He lives in a different dimension than us. He is way bigger than we can think or imagine. As I close I would like to share a few scriptures that will hopefully call us back to the drawing board in the midst of all these uncertainties.

  1. We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose. (Romans 8:28 AMP)
  2. Take [with me] your share of the hardships and suffering [which you are called to endure] as a good (first-class) soldier of Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 2:3 AMP)
  3. No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of [civilian] life; his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him. (2 Timothy 2:4 AMP)
  4. Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13 AMP)
  5. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive. (Jeremiah 29:14 AMP)

So what am I saying…? Let’s be Anchored in Christ and trust His heart even when we don’t understand. The JUST are called to live by FAITH. In the midst of sooo many uncertainties one thing is sure, what God did through Christ on the cross.

Let’s be Anchored in :
The Word of God – The Word will Anchor us. It will grow our spirit man and if we keep renewing our souls with it we get healing and God is able to manifest.
Prayer – Ephesians 6:18, We are called to pray without ceasing with all sorts of prayer.
Praise and Worship – Praise and Worship are a battlefield position where God comes and work on your behalf.
Walk in Faith and refuse to fear – Faith evokes the hand of God. Hebrews 11 says the just shall live by Faith. It also uses the analogy of Faith as a title deed.
Abundant life does not mean the absence of challenges – It means prospering and thriving in the midst of adversity. Joseph prospered even in jail. Regardless of where he was, he prospered.

For additional scripture reading and meditation read Colossians 1:15 – 19 (Amplified Version).

Be Anchored in Christ woman of God. Happy woman’s month. May you be everything that God has called you to be. When all is uncertain and is shaken what do you have? What do you have to hold on to ? Only Christ is the Anchor.
